Well, I mentioned a 2010 reunion in my Family Ties post a few days ago and began to have second thoughts about my memory when no one seemed to know about it but me! My nieces, Angie, Jennifer, Melanie and nephew, Chris have been discussing it on Facebook and my brother, Dale, also asked me when it was.
So I emailed my sister, Becky, to see if I was dreaming about this upcoming event or if we had discussed it. Lucky for me, Becky also remembers discussing the event — it was going to be in Colorado in 2010 but nothing else had been decided. I think we discussed going to the YMCA camp or someplace like that.
If, indeed, this is something we want to do, I think we need to start organizing the event. The kids on Facebook were tallying the numbers trying to decide the location by number of relatives living in one area. Here’s my tally — 38 family members:
- Oregon: 6
- Colorado: 4
- Iowa: 11
- Indiana: 4
- Kentucky: 3
- Tennessee: 7
- California: 1
- Rhode Island: 2
Do I have the numbers correct? Okay — Lloyd E Jones family, let me know what you think and how we shall proceed…
Looks like 11 wins; Iowa it is
And who ever dreamed there would be seven of us in Tennessee!!
If I still had a uterus, I could do that octuplet thing to put Oregon over the top in the tally.
But, we love the Colorado idea — centrally located. We get out of school in the middle of June and have to be back the last week in August. I know July is easiest for Angie and Sean with Sean’s game schedule.
Put us down for a “we’ll do our darndest to make it.”
And I am thinking we are going to need matching t-shrits.
Colorado would be OK, but you can’t get there from here — Nebraska never ends!
Here, here on that. We drove through Nebraska for a week one day.
And I nominate Dale to be in charge of matching t-shirts.
We’ll need 3 mediums and an XL. :)
